Golden Designs Barrel Saunas

A Golden Designs barrel sauna brings the classic round Nordic shape to your backyard. Every model in this collection is a traditional steam sauna built from Pacific Cedar, which means a stove heats the room and you can ladle water over the rocks for a burst of steam. The rounded profile keeps the interior volume compact, so the cabin heats efficiently while still giving you full-length benches.

The Golden Designs Barrel Lineup

St. Moritz, 2 person: the smallest barrel in the range, a good fit for couples or a single user who wants a dedicated outdoor sauna without a large footprint.

Arosa, 4 person: a mid-size barrel that suits most families and gives two people room to lie back on the benches.

Zurich, 4 person: the same 4-person capacity with a bronze privacy view, so you get a look outside while keeping the interior shaded.

Klosters, 6 person: the largest barrel, built for groups, gatherings and households that share the sauna every day.

Why Choose a Barrel Shape

The curved staves of a barrel sauna lock together and leave less empty air above the benches than a square room of the same capacity. That makes for quick warm-up and an even feel from floor to ceiling. Barrels also have a distinct look that many owners want as a feature in the yard. If you are still deciding on shape, our barrel sauna buying guide covers sizing, placement and what to look for, and traditional vs infrared sauna explains how stove heat compares with infrared panels.
