Kahuna vs Infinity Massage Chairs: Which Brand Is Right for You?

Kahuna and Infinity both make full-body massage chairs for the home. The brand name alone won't tell you which to buy; what matters is which chairs each brand offers today and what they do. Our Kahuna range now centers on three Dios chairs, so this comparison puts those three against the three new Infinity chairs we carry: the IT-8500 Plus, Dynasty 4D and Smart Chair X3.

Every spec below comes from the chairs' product listings. Prices can change, and the product page always shows the current price.

The Short Version

Kahuna covers a wider price span. The Dios chairs we carry start with the compact Dios Hani from $1,799 and tops out with the Dios-1288 from $17,999. Infinity's new chairs sit in a tighter band, from $5,999 for the IT-8500 Plus to $7,999 for the Smart Chair X3.

Infinity is more uniform. Every new Infinity chair we carry lists TrueFit Body Scanning, heat, zero gravity recline, Bluetooth headrest speakers and an iOS and Android app. Kahuna's three Dios chairs differ much more from one another, so the model matters more than the brand.

Budget sets the shortlist. For a new chair under $5,000, the Dios Hani and Dios-6800 are the options from these two brands. From $5,999 to $7,999, Infinity's three chairs compete. Above that sits the Dios-1288, and Certified Pre-Owned Infinity chairs are a separate value path.

Where Kahuna Dios Stands Out

The widest price range. The Dios Hani from $1,799 has the lowest starting price of any new chair in this comparison, and the Dios-1288 is the only 8D chair in it.

SL-track on all three. All three Dios chairs run an SL-track. The Hani's 52-inch SL rail runs from neck to leg, and the Dios-6800 and Dios-1288 tracks run from the neck through the glutes. To compare SL-track chairs from other brands, see our SL-track massage chairs.

Airbags, rollers and lower-body work. The Dios-6800 pairs its 6D+ dual core rollers with calf and foot massage with air-compression clamping, scraping and kneading, plus heat in the calves. The Dios-1288 uses 36 airbags across the arms, hips and legs, with 3D calf and foot kneading.

A compact option. The Dios Hani is a massage chair, sofa chair and recliner in one, with an ottoman and USB charging, at a listed 110 lbs.

Where Infinity Stands Out

Consistent core features. TrueFit Body Scanning, which auto-calibrates the roller path to your height and shoulder position, comes on all three new Infinity chairs. So do heat, zero gravity recline and Bluetooth speakers in the headrest.

App control. Each new Infinity chair we carry lists an iOS and Android app. The IT-8500 Plus and Smart Chair X3 listings describe it as a second remote for presetting favorite programs, scheduling sessions and saving settings.

4D in the mid range. The Dynasty 4D (from $6,999) and Smart Chair X3 (from $7,999) both use a 4D back mechanism designed to mimic the variable speed and pressure of human hands. The IT-8500 Plus (from $5,999) uses a 2D mechanism on an S-Track that focuses on the upper-to-mid back.

A chair that sits near the wall. The Dynasty 4D needs just 2–3 inches of clearance behind it when reclining, compared with 18–24 inches for the IT-8500 Plus and Smart Chair X3. It also adds intelligent voice command and a 49-inch L-Track that extends into the glutes.

Published warranty and fit. Each new Infinity chair lists a 5-year structural framework warranty, no-cost replacement on covered parts for 3 years, and no-cost parts and labor (in-home, if necessary) for 1 year, with extended warranty options available. Each is rated for users up to 300 lbs, with an optimal user height of 60–76" for the IT-8500 Plus and Smart Chair X3, or 62–76" for the Dynasty 4D.

On the Kahuna side, the Dios-6800 lists a 2-year full manufacturer warranty and is rated for users up to 6'3" and 280 lbs, so heavier users get more headroom from Infinity's 300 lb rating. Browse the full Infinity collection to compare.

The Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Path

We also carry Certified Pre-Owned Infinity chairs. Each unit is returned to the manufacturer, fully inspected, restored to working specification and re-tested before sale. It is certified by the manufacturer, not a floor model or a third-party refurbishment. Certified Pre-Owned units include a 1-year labor, 3-year parts and 5-year frame manufacturer warranty, and they may show minor cosmetic wear.

• Infinity Evolution Max 4D CPO: 4D mechanism, 49" L-Track, zero gravity, voice command and app control
• Infinity Imperial Syner-D CPO: Syner-D dual back mechanism, zero gravity and voice command

Both list space-saving designs that need just 2–3 inches behind the chair when reclining. Quantities are limited and not restocked on a schedule, so check each listing for the current price and contact us to confirm a specific unit before you order.

Which Brand Is Right for You?

Choose Kahuna Dios if you want a new chair under $5,000, you want calf and foot airbags and heat in a mid-priced chair (Dios-6800), you need a compact chair that doubles as furniture (Dios Hani), or you want the 8D AI flagship with 36 airbags (Dios-1288).

Choose Infinity if you want body scanning, heat, zero gravity and app control as standard on every new model we carry, you need a chair that sits close to a wall (Dynasty 4D), you want 4D in the $6,999 to $7,999 starting-price range, or a Certified Pre-Owned unit gets you into a higher-end Infinity model.

Either way, follow our certified massage therapist's rule: if you want your legs and feet worked, shortlist chairs that list calf and foot massage, and if the chair has to sit against a wall, check the clearance first.
