Front-drive vs rear-drive:

• Front-drive — flywheel in front; smaller footprint, slightly shorter stride length
• Rear-drive — flywheel in back; longer stride length, more natural feeling motion, better for tall users

Specs that matter:

• Stride length — 18" minimum for average users, 20-22"+ for tall users (6 ft+)
• Flywheel weight — heavier (20+ lb) provides smoother motion; lighter fine for casual use
• Resistance type — magnetic (smoothest, quietest) vs friction (cheaper)
• Max user weight — verify rating; residential typically 250-350 lb, commercial 400+
• Console — heart rate monitoring, programmed workouts, app connectivity on premium models
• Footprint — full ellipticals need 6-7 ft length and 3 ft width clearance
