How to choose:

• Driveway / casual home use → 54"–60" backboard with portable base or in-ground post
• Serious home court / heavy adult use → 72" tempered-glass backboard with anchored in-ground post
• Schools / outdoor courts → adjustable height in-ground system with breakaway rim
• Indoor gym installs → wall-mounted or ceiling-suspended system with motorized backstop

Buying notes:

• In-ground systems require concrete footing — verify cure time before play (typically 48–72 hours)
• Portable systems use water/sand-fill bases — verify capacity meets local wind conditions
• Tempered glass backboards deliver real rebound feel; acrylic is lighter and cheaper but less authentic
• Verify rim style — standard vs breakaway; breakaway is required for dunking
